What would drive me to buy yet another trench coat to add to my wardrobe? It is the “differences”!
This trench coat carries a number of evolutionary features that could rarely be seen on a conventional design. To name two, as they are equally impressive to me who is of a petite frame, are the cropped sleeves and the adjustable waistline at the back.
Compared to the wearers in the European and North American countries where most of the popular brands of trench coats were originated from, probably a majority of us are of a relatively smaller frame size. As a result, it is not uncommon to find ourselves having to roll up those “long” sleeves a fold or two in order to get them fit to our wrists especially when we want to maintain a neat finishing style. But why we have to adapt to this “norm”?
I am therefore extraordinarily happy to see the cropped sleeves appearing on this trench coat! This long-waited breakthrough also creates an illusion of a lengthened proportion from the cuffs to the ground by reducing the area of our skin being swamped by fabric. The resulted trimming effect is further amplified by a wise use of the deep cuffs decorated with descent lines of stitches!
The adjustable waistline by way of a pair of equally distanced long knife pleats, extended up to the tips of the scapulas and down to the hem, is another incredible design. It works secretly at the back to provide an option to trim the waistline whenever we want to, with a perfect coverup by the two buttons as they attached to the belt to hide the tricks! These multifunctional buttons also improve the way to fix the belt position by eliminating its room to move around.
Design is about the real world. To me, these two features have improved the functionality of a trench coat. It is a responding and pragmatic design which would certainly be welcomed by the market! Thanks again, Charlotte, for another bold design, and the team in having sourced this unique button from worldwide. Thumbs up!!
